Indiana Small Businesses Invited to Apply for No-Cost Growth Assistance

INDIANAPOLIS – Small business owners in Indiana are encouraged to take advantage of a no-cost assistance program designed to boost growth and innovation. The Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is now accepting applications for the Indiana Technical Assistance Program (INTAP), offering up to $15,000 in professional services to eligible businesses.

This initiative, led by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), connects small businesses with expert vendors to support projects such as:

  • App or technology development
  • Updating inventory and sales tracking systems
  • Legal assistance for intellectual property
  • Writing grants for federal small-business programs

Applications open January 15 and close February 21.

Jon Myers, state director of the Indiana SBDC and vice president of small business at the IEDC, emphasized the program's impact:

“As a state, Indiana continues to support Hoosier entrepreneurs and small businesses through innovative and strategic ways at no cost. INTAP allows entrepreneurs to tap into talent that might not otherwise be available, enabling small businesses and startups to develop and implement new technologies and processes to take their operations to the next level.”

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for INTAP, businesses must:

  • Be a client of the Indiana Small Business Development Center
  • Have a physical presence in Indiana
  • Partner with a vendor located in Indiana
  • Complete their project within five months, ending no later than December 31, 2025
  • Demonstrate a measurable impact, such as job creation, increased sales, or market expansion

Eligible businesses can learn more and apply online at isbdc.org. Businesses not currently working with the Indiana SBDC can connect with a local center for assistance before applying.

Launched in 2017, INTAP has supported 316 Hoosier businesses to date. The program is administered in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington’s Cook Center for Entrepreneurship and the South Central Indiana SBDC regional office.
