Kickstarter x Google Next Wave Fund

The Kickstarter x Google Next Wave Fund is a collaborative initiative that blends crowdfunding infrastructure with direct financial and educational support for technology and digital gaming creators. Unlike traditional grants, the $10,000 award takes the form of a pledge to the creator's Kickstarter campaign when it goes live — meaning it functions as both a financial contribution and a credibility signal to other potential backers. Beyond the pledge, selected founders receive hands-on guidance from Kickstarter's Design & Technology team throughout the campaign development process, no-cost access to Google AI training programs and Grow with Google business workshops, and dedicated promotional placement in Kickstarter's newsletter and social media channels. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis, and selected projects must launch their Kickstarter campaign within six months of being chosen. The fund is open for up to one year, making this an accessible opportunity for founders who are not yet ready to launch but are actively preparing.

Open to entrepreneurs or small businesses with fewer than 20 full-time employees. Projects must focus on technology or digital gaming, including hardware, software, new materials, or products with innovative functionality. At least one team member must be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or O-1 visa holder. The project's bank account must be based in the United States. The primary point of contact must be 18 or older. Selected teams must launch their Kickstarter project within six months of selection.
